Books thatshiftyour gaze.

Contemporary fiction, non-fiction and poetry. We look for writing that holds precision and risk together — and that stays, after the last page, slightly out of place.

Non è andata proprio così - Volume 2

Platone, Gesù e Nerone

Roberto Recordare

Why we publish so little, and so slowly

Scenari began from the idea that a catalogue is a conversation, not an assortment. Three imprints, a small editorial team, and the conviction that the time spent on a text shows on the finished page.

  1. The time a book takes

We publish few titles a year because a manuscript stays in the works as long as it needs to. When a revision asks for another month, the publication date moves: not the text.

  2. Language before plot

We read in search of the sentence: the rhythm, the precision, the courage to leave things out. The stories that interest us come from there, and they arrive later than you would think.

  3. A catalogue to be read together

Fiction, non-fiction and poetry are not separate compartments. Every new title slightly changes the reading of the ones before it, and that is why the catalogue grows slowly.
